On this episode of Yard 2 Yacht:

Matanzas means slaughter in Spanish. In St. Augustine it refers to the slaughter of hundreds of French Huguenot settlers and soldiers by Spanish troops in 1565 on the banks of what is now known as the Matanzas River. Further south, built by the Spanish in 1742, Fort Matanzas guards the southern approach to the old city. We were able to visit Fort Matanzas, St. Augustine’s other fort, and one of the oldest European structures in North America. Really cool!
